written during a trip in Lisbon, observing lot of homeless people in a rich town
now rewritten and recorded again for Shy 'n Humble

I’ve got a dollar from a guy I don’t even know his name
I’ve got a smile from a lady She was the queen for that day
I spend my time on the road I got nothing else to do
I watch people walking by And I wonder what they do

If you think that I’m sad have a look around you
And tell how much of your own you can do
When you look at my life have a look at me
I’m happy with me and nothing else

I’ve no friends I’ve no parents I don’t even know my birthday
But when it’s Christmas day I got a cake from the fellows
I have no house I have no mansion I have a blanket and a pillow
I have no car and no bike I have only my feet

I start my day with a kick From the gentle local police
I have to move away And let my place to you
There’s no morning breakfast And no good night kiss
We live from day to day And wish a smile from you
